Traditional Iraqi clothing is designed with loose*, lightweight fabrics to avoid getting hot. 


Men in Iraq wear a called a dishdasha, which has the merit of covering the skin to protect it from the sun.They also wear a scarf called a kaffiyeh.


Iraqi women includes the abayah, a long black cape over a dress or pants. They  wear two distinct scarves: the asha which covers the hair and the fouta which covers the mouth and chin. 

In addition, they wear bracelets, anklets, pendants and silver rings. Traditional Iraqi women's dresses come in all the colors of the rainbow *loose=ample
