Japan is a country in Asia of 377, 974 km. It is populated with 124 million people and it has more than 14125 islands !

The most famous are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu .
The capital city is Tokyo, and it is the biggest city in the world with more than 37 million inhabitants ! Japan is known for his cultures, his traditions, his gastronomy and his beautiful landscapes .
Japan is a very mountainous country. The highest summit is Mount Fuji, with an altitude of 3,776 m. From this volcano, the volcanic activity started more than 100 000 years ago !
There are also other volcanoes, like Mount Asahi, where there are incredible geysers.

The Japanese structures are unique in the world, especially the temples and the Torii, the famous red “doors” of the sanctuaries.
Sushi is a traditional dish of Japan . They are generally eaten at celebrations , festivals or at special occasions like birthdays.
They are small preparations composed of rice, seaweed and seafood .

The kimono is the traditional clothing of Japan : it is worn at special occasions too. It is generally made with silk and fabric and it has a lot of colors and unique patterns.
In Japanese, they pronounce Japan “Nippon” !
