The tamarin of Goeldi lives in South America, is a little primate who lives in some tropical forest of the west of Amazonia, Bolivia, Peru and Brazil. It was discovered in 1904.


The tamarin of Goeldi is 8 to 12 inch without its tail. Its tail can be10 to 14 inch.

He weighs around 1 pound


Description:


  • black coat with some reflection brown and red

  • On his head he has a mane which makes him a unique primate of South America


Way of life:


  • arboreal primate

  • lives with his family (2 to 8 primates)

  • lives all the time in the tropical forest

    Food:


  • omnivorous

  • fruits (berry, fig, nut…)

  • insects (caterpillars, grasshopper, spider…)

  • little animals (lizard, frog, baby bird…)

  • plants (sap...)


Dangers:
