On May 19th , restaurants (outdoor dinings), cinemas and theaters reopened.
On Friday 21st, I went to the "coq en pâte" to ask them questions. They have a large terrasse and everybody had a smile for the reoppening, but when the employees think about their financial situation, their smile is a little bit smaller.
"Our terrasse is large," say a server "but we will need a lot of months to catch up the delay of these 5 month of closure."
"It wasn’t very easy because sanitary norms always change, but we succeeded in organising ourselves to welcome 40 people," he said.
The government and his economy minisery, directed by Bruno Lemaire, create the "quoi qu'il en côute"an dthis system cost for the moment 43 bilions.
Effectively, their terrasse is large, but 5 five months of debt can’t be refunded in a day, a server told me.
"During these 5 months of closure, we massively used “chômage partiel”, but the “prêts garantis par l’état*” need to be refunded, and for the moment it seems a little bit difficult.
*Lows back by the state
From this time, a lot of commercial places have reopened, but discothèques and festivals and concerts haven’t reopened and their financial situation is very bad. The festival of “vieilles charrues” will be organised but (for the moment) with only 5000 people in attendance, and they will need to wear a mask…
To be continued...
