There are many traditions around the world to celebrate the New Year. Discover here 10 of the most interesting !


AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND : People bang pans together as loud as possible.

CHINA : You must throw the paper with your wish in a tree, and if your paper stays in the tree until midnight, your wish will be realized.

COLOMBIA : The people who want to travel around the world, go out with their suitcase to walk around the block.

DENMARK : Danish people jump from a chair at midnight and sing the national anthem.

ECUADOR and PERU : In the street, people burn dolls which represent the year before.

ITALY : The tradition is that you throw the old objects of your house through the window for clearing of the problems.

NETHERLANDS : The new year is celebrated with fireworks during the entire night.

PORTUGAL : People keep a coin in their hand to get a thriving year.

RUSSIA : People write their resolutions on a paper, burn this paper, put it in a glass of champagne, and drink.

SPAIN : The tradition is eating 12 grape seeds to get lucky every month.
