The ship:

The" Titanic " tells the story of this boat which was the biggest boat in the world before it sank.

The Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912, after striking an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City.

Titanic was under the command of Captain Edward Swith, who also went down with the ship.

Titanic carried only a total of 20 lifeboats; they were enough for 1 178 people (about half the number on board). Of the estimated 2 224 passengers aboard, more than 1 500 died, making the sinking at the time the deadliest of a single ship in the west.

The movie

The " Titanic " is a famous and sad movie. It was written by James Cameron

The movie was released in 1997. It was the most expensive film ever made at the time, with a production budget of $200 million. The movie received 11 awards.

A 3D version of Titanic, released on April 4, 2012, to commemorate the centennial of the sinking.

The summary of the movie :

Rose tells her story, because she's the only survivor from this shipwreck.

She was in a cruise with her mother and husband. Then she met a young man ( called Jack ) during her journey. She starts falling in love with him, although they are members of different social classes, and betrays her husband. At the end of the movie the boat has to face a problem : there's an iceberg so big that they can't avoid it although, and the boat starts sinking, panic on board, people all fall in the frozen sea, same for Rose and Jack. And to keep Rose alive, Jack put her on a piece of wood from the boat, and he dies in the cold water.
